Soi Dogs Rabies Eradication Efforts Receive Royal ..

Soi Dog’s rabies eradication efforts receive royal recognition 🏆

We were honoured recently to have our disease control work recognised at a World Rabies Day event organised by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and presided over by Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana.

Each year at the event, the Thailand Rabies Award is presented to the municipality with the best rabies management practices. This year, it was awarded to the municipality of Kathu here in Phuket!

On accepting the award, Kathu Mayor Dr. Chai-anan Suthikul kindly stated that he saw it as a shared award with Soi Dog as we have worked closely with the municipality for a number of years – collaborating on vaccination drives, sterilisation clinics and education events within the community.

The responsibility to eradicate rabies is a shared one, and there are a number of projects in Thailand working towards this goal, including Princess Chulabhorn’s ‘Free Rabies Project’ and Soi Dog’s large-scale vaccination programme, which you so kindly support.

Close to 800,000 animals have been vaccinated and neutered through our programme, contributing to a steep reduction in rabies cases throughout the country.

This has only been made possible by you, so as the Kathu Mayor shared this award with us, we also share it with you. Thank you 🙏
