Today is National Black Dog Day in the USA – a day that aims to highlight the plight of black dogs in shelters and end the stigma surrounding their colour 🖤

As true animal lovers, we know you love a dog no matter the colour of their fur. Sadly, though, black dogs continue to find themselves last on the list to be adopted, regardless of their breed, size, temperament, age or any of the wonderful things they have to offer.

Unsafe and unwelcome in her territory, Elophy was brought to Soi Dog when she was a puppy. She arrived with her five siblings and mother who all went on to find loving homes. Now it’s her turn.

Elophy can be hesitant around new people but seeks comfort in the company of other dogs. A calm household with a patient adult family and a friendly dog or two would therefore suit her down to her paws. (No feline friends though, please!)
