Watch as a Malayan colugo who was rescued previously is returned to the wild and glides away!

We’ve had various messages regarding the colugo who was found hanging on a car.

Below are some tips when encountering a colugo in an urban setting:

1) Give it space: Do not crowd around the animal! You can do your part by ensuring that others keep a safe distance too.

2) Touch me not: Do not handle the animal. Wild animals can be defensive and incorrect handling can get yourself and the animal hurt.

3) Hit us up: Call us at 97837782 and we will guide you on what to do.

4) Be safe: If the animal is on the road, always prioritize your safety and try to guide vehicles away only when it is safe for you to do so.

Malayan colugos are shy, nocturnal creatures who are strictly arboreal. They are also known as Sunda ‘flying’ lemurs due to their ability to glide.

The ACRES 24-hour wildlife rescue hotline receives an average of 1,800 calls and an average of 400 animals are rescued monthly.We expend over $60,000 monthly to care for the various needs (dietary, medication, spatial, caregivers) of the animals (both native & non-native) in our care.
