Did you know the reef manta (Mobula alfredi) and the giant oceanic manta (Mobula birostris) are both legally protected in Malaysia?

Manta rays are among the largest fishes in the ocean, with the biggest brain of all fishes that have been studied so far. With no venomous tail spines, these graceful and intelligent creatures pose no harm to humans, yet they are in danger of becoming extinct, just like all of their cartilaginous relatives 🦈.
