Some people rescue because it is a calling. Then there are some who rescue because of various other reasons such as for personal gain, to support themselves, for praise and to fill the emotional void in their lives. When rescuing is not one’s calling but one is doing it for the last four reasons mentioned – things can get out of hand and unwanted situations can arise and these include:

a) embezzlement and fraud

b) the rescuers also ending up on the streets eventually

c) poor condition of the shelter

d) neglected dogs

e) abandonment

This is a so-called shelter in Taiping. We do not need such ‘rescuers’ nor ‘shelters.

If you are in Taiping, please help these dogs. It seems there are cats there to.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
