Shiver 2011-2022
We are saddened to learn today of the passing of one of our former shelter dogs, Shiver.
Shy, fearful and withdrawn, Shiver arrived at the Soi Dog shelter as a young dog aged just 4 months. He was a nervous dog with a complex personality, attributed to the very tough start to his life on the street. He was suffering from severe mange, he was malnourished and extremely hungry. Life on the street is hard for many dogs, but for Shiver and his idiosyncrasies, it was more difficult than most.
He spent 6 years in our care, drawing the affections of many volunteers and staff alike, and worked closely with our dedicated behaviour team who helped nurture him up until the point in 2017 when he found a patient, caring and compassionate home in the United States with former volunteer, Melissa, who was willing to offer him the comfort and safety he so richly deserved and that his personality demanded.
There, he spent the second half of his life not having to worry about the terrible things that shaped his personality as a puppy, and lived the life all dogs should live – showered with love, cemented with companionship, and with a safe place to lay his head at night.
Safe journey, Shiver, and rest easy.
