We know that many of you were deeply saddened to see Calvin in such a distressing way last week, which is why we are so happy to share his progress with you today.

Last week, Calvin was rescued from the dog meat trade by our incredible partner organisation, Animal Kingdom Foundation. He was struggling to breathe and suffering from heat stroke. We were all so worried about him. Thankfully, with the tireless work of AKF and your generous support, Calvin has pulled through.

It’s hard to believe that he was likely just moments away from being slaughtered for his meat. A true barbarity that no dog should endure.

Calvin and five other dogs from the same rescue mission are now under rehabilitation at the AKF shelter where they are expected to make full recoveries. Sadly, not all dogs are as lucky. Just today alone, as many as 500 dogs will die for their meat in the Philippines as part for the illegal dog meat trade. We must end this once and for all.
