This Weeks Episode Of Catwatch Is Dedicated To Bak..

This week’s episode of #CatWatch is dedicated to Bakerharris, the chief groomer of the cattery, who we sadly lost to feline leukemia virus (FeLV) recently 🌈

Bakerharris was brought to the shelter late last year after he was found with most of his left hind leg missing. We don’t know if it was a congenital deformity or an injury he’d learnt to live with, but we did know it wasn’t safe for him to live on the streets with such a disability.

On arrival, he also tested positive for FeLV and so he joined our FeLV Suite where he quickly assumed the position of resident hairdresser. Cats would line up for a grooming from him.

Some cats groom to show dominance, but we always got the impression that Bakerharris did it out of pure love for his fellow felines. He was a sweet and generous boy, and that’s how we will always remember him.
