Please Do Not Do This, Part 2

In view of our Multiple Fund Policy where we only subsidise a maximum of 60% if rescuers apply to 2-3 funds (single fund, it is 50%), it has been brought to my attention that a certain rescuer has devised a way to procure 100% sponsorship for her medical cases by doing the following:

a. She claims 50% from one fund.
b. Her friend (in collaboration with her) claims 50% from other fund, using the same case, but under a different name.

It would then be two different rescuers claiming from two different funds, masquerading the case as two different cases. They can use photographs of two different animals as long as it fits the description of the actual animal who is sick.

How they are going to get two original receipts, I would not know, but they would probably just tell the vet they have lost the first receipt and get the vet to issue another.

To the rescuer who is intending to do this, we urge you not to – It is dishonest.

What goes around, comes around. You may be able to get away with it now, but the Universe will catch up with you…when you least expect it. I hope after reading this, you will not attempt to do it because we already know who you are.

We have policies, and we (the three organisations providing medical subsidies) consult with each other over joint subsidy claims. However, knowing the devious human mind, it can devise a thousand and one ways to cheat and beat our system. But, “the sky has eyes”, folks.

So, if I may be allowed to repeat myself – to the financially needy rescuer, you are most welcome to apply to our funds.

If you are financially needy, we will help you and your animals. If you are NOT financially needy but you still want to apply for charity, we will help your animals, and for you – may you be able to sleep well at night.
