We could hardly believe the condition Tommy was in when he arrived at the shelter back in June 2019, and we could only imagine how long he’d been left to suffer in such condition.

By the time our rescue officers happened upon him, his body was almost hairless from a skin disease, he was weak with anaemia and he was terrified of human contact.

Tommy underwent weeks of treatment, but sadly some areas of his skin were too damaged for the hair to be able to regrow.

What has grown in abundance, though, is his confidence! With the help of our behaviour team, he’s rediscovered the curious, adventurous and eager side of himself that he lost in his struggle to survive on the streets.
