The Dog And Cat Meat Trade In Asia Differs From Co..

The dog and cat meat trade in Asia differs from country to country 🌏

In some places, dogs are snatched from the streets and butchered in slaughterhouses. In others, they are purposefully bred for their meat on farms. In some places, the consumption of dog and cat meat is legal or occupies a grey area. In others, it’s illegal but continues underground, as this map shows.

Wherever and however it takes place, we know you will agree that it is unspeakably cruel and must be brought to an end.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to tackling the trade, and the action we are taking together is targeted, tailored and country specific so as to have maximum impact 💪

In Vietnam, positive talks are being held at high levels of government, with a focus on the health risks of the trade.

In South Korea, meanwhile, our focus is more on the ground, shutting down slaughterhouses and rescuing dogs alongside our partner ARK119.

And in Thailand, what was once a thriving trade has already been eradicated completely thanks to your support, your petition signatures and the cooperation of the authorities.

Whatever it takes to save innocent dogs and cats from slaughter, we will be there. And with your support, you will be right there with us.
