Still No Ofie

Latest updates:
Hi KY,
It’s not Ofie in that house. But the owner is a cat-lover and he promised to keep an eye out. And he pointed out the houses around that feed cats. So he assures Connie that there is no need to be afraid that there is no food because many people leave food behind. Connie says that this is true because she has been walking the back alleys of these houses and saw many left-overs. Plus there are no stray dogs.
Connie has finished putting flyers into the mail box of the houses in that area this morning. Now it’s time to wait for calls from people who spot him. Since she has talked to a few of the neighbours there about Ofie, they are aware of the problem and will keep a look out for him.
She is also waiting for Keng (your old temple acquaintance) to come back from Singapore to help get Ofie back because he is also one of Ofie’s main feeders. He has been feeding him since kitten and Ofie responds immediately to the squeak sound of his car boot!.
There are actually a number of people feeding this colony of cats in my area and the cats are generally well taken care of. Sometimes they get to eat more than 2 meals a day! It is people like this dumper who spoils the otherwise harmonious human-cat community that we have established.
So Connie will continue to search DU, but she is also resigned to the fact that if there are people looking after cats in the area, it could also be a good place for Ofie to be. She also believe that Ofie may need some time to be less afraid, so that he would come out when called. Ofie has always been a bit on the timid side and not very clever - a softie kitty (according to Connie).
Will keep you updated!
Let’s hope the sound of Keng’s carboot can get Ofie out from wherever he is hiding. Otherwise, we may have to take comfort that at least Ofie is in a safe neighbourhood where there are cat-friendly people and cat feeders too.
Be safe, Ofie. Come out soon.
