The indigenous peoples have established a close relationship with nature, and have gained a wealth of traditional knowledge through experiences and learning from their ancestors. Today, with the help of modern knowledge, we can better sustainably manage our resources.

WWF-Malaysia and the Malaysian Pepper Board (MPB) are working with the pepper farmers from Rumah Dagum and Rumah Peter in Ulu Katibas, Song, towards greater sustainability and more environmentally friendly farming practices. In May, a one-day training session on best management practices for pepper farming was held at Rumah Peter. We are excited about this project, as we are working closely with the indigenous communities towards producing the sustainable spice that Sarawak is famous for, in the best interest of people and nature.
