Two years ago, Lemorro and her friend Livana were abandoned on a tiny deserted island about 85 kilometres from our base in Phuket.⁠ There was no food to eat or water to drink, and there wasn’t a soul living there. Our animal rescue team had to travel by truck and boat for hours to collect them and bring them to our shelter for safety.

While Livana found her home in Canada a year later, Lemorro was more traumatised by the incident, and it’s taken her longer to be ready for a home.
