Amazing, isn’t it? 😮 Our deep sea is like nowhere else on Earth. Not only is it home to unique wildlife, it also locks away 25% of all the carbon that we emit.

But this important marine environment is in danger because of a new extractive industry known as deep seabed mining.

The process involves scraping the ocean floor up to four kilometres below the surface for metals and minerals, threatening to destroy the deep sea.

Political and business leaders must #SaveOurOcean and reject all deep seabed mining activities now.

Our ocean faces many threats. But this is one we can stop before it starts. #SDG14
