Dear Dr. Chan,
A very unfortunate incident happened, the kittens was attacked. From
initial 4 kitten, 1 died few days ago and today 2 out of 3 kitten was
bitten with puncture wounds on their head and 1 neck look like kinda
snapped.
I was shocked to see blood every where and the mom was not around.I
fear the 2 severely injured kitten may not survive the night.I
decided to take in the remaining one in.
Thus would like your help in letting me knw where I can get the Pets-O
Milk to feed the kitten.
Thank You
Jon

I have communicated with John and urged him to separate the mother and the surviving kittens (confine them in a room so that they will be safe from the bully-cat).
I have also given him the contact no of the pet hospital in PJ which is open today. The two injured ones (John says they are still breathing) need medical attention. We will subsidise the cost.
My friend, who has kitten milk is now in contact with John and he can get the kitten milk from her. Failing that, I have also told John to use glucose water first to feed this kitten, to prevent hypoglycaemia from settling in.
The latest sms from John says that the mother-cat has returned and are nursing her injured kittens. I’ve advised John to let the mother nurse the non-injured one, whom he has brought into his house, then take the injured ones to the vet today, and keep the non-injured one safely with the mother in a room.
I hope the two little ones can be saved.
John is a first-timer at this, so if anyone of you can help foster the whole family, please contact John as soon as possible and make arrangements with him.
UPDATES at 9.18am – My friend is going to help John. She will accompany John to the vet’s with all the kittens. John is nervous and anxious, and we understand, because he has never done this before. Apparently, John has other female cats that are NOT spayed. He had kept this family together with those cats. Maybe one of those cats attacked these kittens. Never mind that now. Please help pray for the two injured kittens to get well soon. They are still nursing from their mother, so we hope the injury is not too grave. We appeal to anyone who can take over these kittens and the mother to please contact John.
UPDATES at 11.37am – My friend texted to say they are still waiting at the vet’s. There are too many emergency cases today. The two injured kittens do not look good. One with a broken neck. Both still breathing. Vet has looked at them. X-Ray is probably needed. The un-injured kitten looks fine and healthy. We will subsidise whatever is needed to save these two kittens. I’ve told my friend to request the vet to do everything possible to save them. Please let’s collectively pray for the two injured kittens.
UPDATES at 11.52am – This is the kitten with the broken neck. She cannot drink by herself. We request your prayers, please. May the two injured kittens be safe and free from pain and suffering.
Updates at 12.19am – The vet has examined the kitten with the broken neck. He has brain damage, could be neurological as he keeps rolling and is unable to balance. The vet advised John to bring in the mother-cat and let the mother nurse this kitten for a few days. The bite wound is infected and needs daily injection and cleaning at the vet’s. We presume that the whole family will be brought in since the other kittens also need their mother. We will subsidise boarding in this case since it is a necessity. Please pray for a miracle to happen and the kitten can recover. Otherwise, let him not suffer in pain. Hopefully, the mother’s warmth and nursing will keep him comfortable.
This reminds me of Vixey, brought in at 1 month old with a brain trauma. Vixey survived it. She was put on drips for 3 days and she fought on to live. I was there camping at the vet’s every day to cheer her on even though she seemed comatose. Vixey lived on for two years before succumbing to brain retardation and kidney failure. It was one of the most precious two years of my life, nursing Vixey.
Please pray for this kitten.
Updates at 12.25pm – The kitten and family cannot be boarded because the clinic cannot cope with too many cases. The one with the brain damage has been given steroids. The other kitten with a puncture wound on his head is ok but cannot confirm for sure if there is any brain damage. The front paw is not moving, but there is no fracture. This kitten needs a follow-up in 2 days’ time. John is taking the family home now. We appeal for a fosterer for this family. The fosterer must be able to bring the kitten(s) in for regular vet visits (follow-up). Please help, if you can, contact John directly.
Updates at 1.02pm – My friend is taking home “Brainy” (the most badly injured one with brain damage) to nurse and bring back to the vet’s for follow-up visits. John is taking back the other two. I have offered a cage, but John says he has one. We appeal to cat-fosterers to help John foster the mother-cat and two kittens.
Updates at 2.22pm – I have spoken with my friend who is now doing her best to make Brainy as comfortable as possible. Brainy cannot swallow milk and is fast fading. We appeal for your prayers to see him through comfortably. More importantly, we are appealing for a fosterer to take over the mother-cat and her two surviving kittens from John.
Note: My friend wishes to remain anonymous.
Updates at 6.33pm:
From John:
Thanks to your guidance n your friend’s advice on the journey. I began to realize my mistake in which will not happen again. I will pray for Brainy every day so he will not be in pain.
Thank you again.
Jon
