📣 Calling for interested candidates 📣
We are looking for two people-centric candidates to join our Freshwater Conservation (Klang Valley) team. The candidates will be required to manage community engagement initiatives on river corridor restoration and mapping, water quality and river pollution monitoring, assessments and reporting, information gathering and disseminating information to the stakeholders and public for river conservation and sustainable water resources management.
Position: Freshwater Programme Assistant
Working location: Klang Valley
Duration: July 2022 to January 2023
Responsibilities
📝 Assist in activity planning and implementation, and monitoring progress of the community engagement initiatives on river corridor restoration and mapping, water quality and river pollution monitoring, and other related freshwater conservation activities in the Klang Valley.
📝 Assist in information gathering, desktop research and scoping assessment, organising training/events/meetings, and coordination with stakeholders/partners.
📝 Assist in developing and disseminating awareness, advocacy and promotional materials related to the project to stakeholders/partners, including the targeted communities.
📝 Assist in preparing, developing and producing communication materials and other documents/publications related to the project for awareness-raising and advocacy purposes.
📝 Assist in preparing project progress and technical reports including reports to donors.
📝 Assist with taking meeting minutes, translation work, organising and filing meeting minutes, and gathering freshwater-related information for presentations and reporting.
Requirements
💧 Applicants must be from backgrounds related to Hydrology, Freshwater Ecology, Environment, Conservation and Natural Resources. Fresh graduates with no working experience are welcome to apply.
💧 Proficient in both Bahasa Malaysia and English. Good written English would be an advantage.
💧 Computer literate (MS Word and MS Excel). Skills in data analysing and reporting will be an advantage.
💧 Skills in designing and managing social media are good added advantages.
💧 Good understanding of and experience in freshwater conservation projects, and has an understanding of current environmental and water-related issues.
💧 Able to work with minimal supervision, both in-office and work from home.
💧 Good interpersonal skills and is able to work in a team as well as work independently.
💧 Possess a valid driving license and is able to drive. Owning a vehicle will be preferred.
