Updates on the little one, Alien:

Hi there Dr Chan,

Ive been wanting to send you some updates on Alien aka Ally Ann for some time now, but have been very occupied.

On a whole shes doing much better now and Ive started her on wet food. But this has caused her to have soft stools. Im hoping to move on to dry kibble (mixed with water) soon and hope that her stools will improve.

Baby Alien at about 10 days old weighs 100g, abandoned by her mother. (Said to be suffering from Hydrocephalus)

Shes a lot more active and has explored the whole house causing some chaos amongst my other cats in the process. They seem to have a tough time accepting her, not that they attack her or anything though. Its like shes taken over their territory which is a good thing. Puts everyone in their place Id say. Shes also a bit more vocal especially when shes hungry or when she needs to go potty, not that I mind at all. She loves attention and craves for it, and makes sure you know it. Shes definitely come a long way this little one.

At 3 weeks losing fur on her chest and legs (wonder why?)

After many visits to the vet (many different vets) still no conclusion on her condition or her deformities. Until she grows bigger, we are unable to take any blood for further testing etc. She came to me weighing a mere 100g and now has gained 50g. It does not seem like much at all compared to the rate other kittens grow, but definitely a good sign especially with her extremely tiny frame. She much smaller than an average sized hamster!

We now face disappearing fur..all over her chest to her front legs, also spots on her head and near the ears. Shes been de-wormed twice now as she had terrible infestation of roundworms. So far, nothing in her stools (fingers crossed). Im at a loss thou about her losing her fur. Wonder if Ill end up having a semi Sphinx kitten eventually!

Bedtime goodnight yall

p/s Im even considering contacting the Guinness Book of Records to see if she qualifies as the Smallest Cat In The World!

Total bliss
