Firstly, the person who tipped off the incident is a 13-year-old child of a single mother. We cannot curse her for not releasing the dog. Secondly, the dog owner apparently is a widow that runs a business in Cheras hence she leaves home in the morning and returns home at night. Her husband passed away 6 months ago. However, there is video evidence that she was home when the dog was whinning to get inside. Please see video in the comment section. We suspect the dog squezed itself out from the gap berween the wall and the railings. The house has a big compound but the owner created a ramshackle box as a shelter in the open part of the garden. There is no excuse for what had happened. This person must be duly dealt with.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
