On 29th February, I received this from Wazura:
HiDr Chan Kah Yein,
My name isWazuraBinti Saruni. I lived in an apartment in Puchong Kinrara with a friend.
Around my apartment, a lot of stray cats come and asking for food which I provide the best I can. Unable to keep them inside the house due to we already got 7 cats.
One of the stray cats we called Tompok and since we provide foods, shes staying around the house together with her 2 kittens around 2 months old.
On 24/02/2012, when we arrived home, we found her inside our neighbor grille with her mouth full of blood and cannot move. We suspect she got hit by a car. Slowly we pulled her out from the grille and found that her jaw broken and probably her leg broken too because she cannot stand at all.
We sent her to St. Angels Animal Medical Centre in Puchong Jaya which is the nearest clinic and open at night. Doctor diagnosed and confirmed she had a head trauma, broken jaw and hip. Suspected got internal bleeding. Need to admit her to stabilize the condition and do some blood test. They required RM200 deposit for further action.
On 25th, doctor informed that she already got the blood test result and some of the reading is 10 times higher than normal. Again, they suspect she got internal bleeding and request another few days to observe. Doctor also done an x-ray and confirmed her hip cracked. Tompok unable to urinate on her own, she need help to press her bladder then only she can urinate.
On 27th, doctor call to inform that she is quite stable and they suggest to proceed with the jaw operation because taking medication by injection is costly. They requested for RM500 deposit and on 28th, they proceed with the operation.
Today, doctor updated her latest condition. She able to eat liquid food and medicine using syringe. Another 2-3 days of observation needed then she can be taken back for home care but we need to learn from the doctor on how to take care of her at home especially for the urinating process.
Due to a high cost of the medication, I seek for your help on the medical fund. I also applied from SCRATCH and Pet Finder. Attached is the estimated cost for the medical treatment, deposits and pictures of Tompok, before and after operation.
Your kind consideration is greatly appreciated.
Thanks and have a nice day.
Regards,
Wazura
Updates today:
Hope everyone is doing great.
Latest update for Tompok. We took her back on Saturday evening. Doctor taught us on how to take care of Tompok and provided some medication, one of it is the nerve supplement. She need to continue the nerve supplement for a long term basis. The cost is RM1 per pill and she need to take twice a day.
She’s quite ok even looked a bit stress. She tried to walk when we reached home but only right leg able to move. To avoid more injuries, we put her in a cage.
Good things happen, she now can eat, drink and urinate on her own. But since we took her back, she haven’t defecate yet. Try to press her bladder but nothing come out. Probably need some time because she haven’t eat that much.
We use a big syringe to feed the medicine. Not sure the tools name but it worked
Attached is the total bill for Tompok and the payment we provided.
I will send the application form and original bill to you by this week.
Any inquiry, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks for all your kindness.
Regards,
Wazura

We have pledged to subsidise the bill, together with Scratch. The total joint subsidy would be 60% as the bill is below RM1500 and as such, only two funds (AnimalCare and Scratch) will be subsidising.
We wish Tompok a speedy total recovery and three cheers to Wazura for doing the needful in saving Tompok’s life!
