That concludes the 2022 river terrapin nesting season 🎉

We’ve had a pretty eventful season this year. It started a week before Chinese New Year, and was going on smoothly until all the nesting banks were flooded on 1st March.

Our anti-poaching patrolling was interrupted for a week before our Terrapin Guardians were able to clean up the campsite and resume operations.

We’ll post an update in a few days, we need some time to ean up the camp beds, stow them away before dive into the data we’ve collected this season.

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
