Did You Know That Leatherback Turtles Are Migrator..

Did you know that leatherback turtles are migratory animals?

This means that they move from place to place because food is plentiful at different places at different seasons, and also to find better breeding conditions.

This causes them to be found in many places, especially the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, and their largest remaining nesting sites are located in Trinidad and Tobago, the Northwest Atlantic and the Southeast Atlantic.

When looking for food, leatherback turtles can dive down to nearly 4,000 feet (1,200 meters).

So, are leatherback turtles found in the Mariana Trench?

The deepest point of the Mariana Trench’s is known as Challenger Deep, is approximately 10,902 meters deep. Many strange organisms are found in this trench, but unfortunately, not leatherback sea turtles. Yes, leatherback turtles can dive very deep in the search for food, but not that deep.
