“Forests were the first temples of the divinity, and it is in the forests that men have grasped the first idea of architecture.” Those were the beautiful words of a French writer and statesman, Francois-Rene de Chateaubriand (1768 – 1848), that describe the relationship between forests and humans, and how humans draw inspirations from nature.
This International Day of Forests, let’s take a moment to reflect on our relationship with forests and how do we sustain this special bond?
At WWF-Malaysia, we aim to increase forest coverage and protected areas, improve the management of production forests for the supply of sustainable timber, and restore degraded areas especially where there is need to maintain critical forest linkages. But we cannot achieve all of these alone, we need the support of government, public and private sectors.
Show you support protecting forests by pledging for nature at wwf.org.my/earthhour Thank you
