Jennifer is urgently looking for a home for Cody because she shares a house with others, and one of her housemates is not happy with Cody’s presence. If you can help, please contact Jennifer atjenick.lee@gmail.com.
Hi Dr. Chan,
I brought Cody to the Vet today because he finished his antibiotics. Vet said do not need antibiotics anymore but still need Ivermectin daily dosage and gave him injection again today. Will need to bring him back for 2nd vacination 2 weeks later. But I am very upset now because 1 of my housemate cannot stand Cody already. As you know I kept Cody in the empty living hall because my housemate new car is parked inside the car porch and backyard have snakes. Cody started to make noise at 4am yesterday and my housemate have the habit of sleeping without closing the door. I woke up to make him quiet but after I went back to the room, he yelp again. Then second round at 6.30am. This morning 7am he yelp and whine, then my housemate bang his door which I know he is already very unhappy about Cody. He even updated his facebook status that his patient is running out and that gonna explode soon. I clear the backyard in the noon and try to put Cody there without leashing him, he yelp/whine/bark even louder which is worst. So I went to the hardware shop and bought some netting, seal the gate so that Cody won’t run out through the gap. He just love to go over to my neighbour house and touch nose with their golden and other neighbour house outside to poo. Definitely they are not happy with it too thinking will transfer the demodex to their golden. I will try to put him in the car porch tonight. Pray hard that he won’t make any noise or scratch my housemate’s new car. Cody just don’t like to pee on the porch. Sigh. If this plan fail, I really don’t know what to do. With his condition like that, hardly anyone will adopt him and I definitely won’t release him back to the street without him recover and neuter. I realize that wanted to do something good is just so hard. Some of my friends suggested me to send him to SPCA, but I know SPCA euthanize dogs after a certain period of them if no one adopt them. How can I send him to die. I really don’t know what to do now….sigh.
Thank You.
I told Jennifer it might a trifle hard to find Cody a fosterer since he has not recovered from his Demodex, but of course, we’ll never know. Let’s just try, anyway.
Updates last night:
Hi Dr. Chan,
Ya. I also know that. I just spoke to him nicely and he just say OK. I also assure him that Cody won’t scratch cars because he is from the street and he get used to cars already. Now Cody is in the porch. Testing for 15mins already. He is making noise but on and off crying whining there. Using playpen to block the shoe area so that he won’t bite their shoe. I only have a pair of slipper but housemates have at least 10pairs there. Hopefully after a while he will get used to his new sleeping place at night. Fingers crossed.
Yes. Cody is on vetri DMG and Ivermectin daily. He still need Ivermectin because the vet still found the demodex “bacteria” under the microscope but not much luckily. I wipe him with wet cloth everytime he is back from doing business to keep him clean and bath him once/twice a week with medicated shampoo too. Hopefully its really better for him.
Many Thanks.
Poor Jennifer is really trying her very best. She only shares this place with other housemates. Let’s help her find a home for Cody, OR let’s just pray her housemate would be a bit more compassionate and will not complain.
