Thank You, Eastern Horizon

Doesn’t it feel good when one gets to say so many “thank you”s in a day?

Besides running AnimalCare, I also devote sometime to serve the Buddhist community by doing the only thing I know – speaking and sharing. On weekends and weekday evenings, I give public talks on living a simpler and more spiritually fulfilling life, based on my understanding of the teachings.

Sometimes, I write for their magazines,too, and usually it is about living the spiritual life. Recently, I was invited by the editor of Eastern Horizon, Mr Benny Liow, to write about my work with animals.

So, here it is…. It’s published in the January 2012 issue.

I started AnimalCare with a cardboard box!
(and a modest ambition to help 10 animals per year….we ended up helping 660 animal in our first year!)

Bro Chim has been very supportive of our work throughout, allowing us to open booths at the SJBA on every Wesak and Kathina. That’s where we really sell our tshirts and top up our funds for the following few months. Last Kathina, we replenished stock THREE times in one day while manning the booth.

�This is what I do best – speaking, writing and doing what I can with all my heart.

We all have our own strengths and no one’s effort is ever too small or too big. As long as it comes from the heart, and we give it everything we’ve got, it counts!
