Jupiters Pool Opens To Soi Dog Rescues, Offering A..

‘Jupiter’s Pool’ opens to Soi Dog rescues, offering a place of therapy and joy.✨

We are thrilled to announce the opening of ‘Jupiter’s Pool’ at the Soi Dog sanctuary in Phuket. Designed specifically for dogs, the pool will offer hydrotherapy for our senior and special needs dogs with orthopaedic complications and reduced mobility. While our hydrotherapy unit in the hospital offers treatment for those in rehabilitation, this pool is for our sanctuary residents who will benefit from regular buoyancy exercises to help reduce pains associated with movement caused by old age and past accidents such as road traffic impacts.

The pool will also serve as an enrichment area for some of our more agile and energetic dogs who will find mindful freedom in frolicking in the water.🤽‍♀️

The pool was FULLY funded by a private donor and long-term supporter who wanted to give these deserving dogs a little bit extra in addition to their shelter and care and in turn enrich their lives with comfort and contentment.🙏

The pool was carefully designed with the safety of the dogs in mind and includes a large shallow end for dogs who just want to stand, splash or lie down in water, a graduated depth increase from front to back and a deep end for the more confident dogs who want to jump, dive and swim.

Jupiter’s Pool was inspired by the donor’s own dog, Jupiter, who benefited from water therapy after he lost the use of his hind legs during the last four years of his life and needed a wheelchair to get around. Jupiter found so much joy in using a pool, and it also provided him with much-needed exercise and physiotherapy.

It is hoped that Jupiter’s Pool will bring the same comfort and joy to Soi Dog’s rescues as it did to Jupiter during those last years of his life.🧡
