We lost our Ponni today. She was a formidable doggy character that was rescued a few years ago. Please click on link to read her story. Ponni was a disciplinarian and kept all cheeky young brats well behaved at our Rawang sanctuary. They showed great respect towards her. Ponni came to us with mammary gland tumours which was surgically temoved and she was given the necessary treatment. Unfortunately some years later the cancer came back in her lungs and spread to her brain. She started shaking and was not doing well. We had decided to inform the vet that we would be euthanising her. For that we would have discharged her, brought her home, pampeted and fed her before getting the vet to come over to do it. But Ponni decided to move on on her own this morning. May her soul rest in peace. We will indeed miss our discipline mistress very much.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better is a canine welfare programme initiated by non-profit organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative (CDII).

MDDB's main activities revolve around rescuing dogs from the local council pounds as well as off the streets. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption.
