Join us on 27 January 2022 at 9:30 AM for another session in our Environmental Speaker Series, this time on the topic of Will Carbon Mitigation Reduce Impacts of Climate Change? The Environmental Speaker Series is organized by WWF-Malaysia and sponsored by the U.S. Embassy Kuala Lumpur.

Globally, energy consumption over a large range of sectors is the biggest source of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions. The Paris Agreement was created to hold nations accountable in their efforts to decrease carbon emissions, with the goal of ensuring temperatures don’t rise 2 degrees celsius above pre-industrial levels. Will it be achievable?

This talk will feature John Shideler, President of Futurepast, which specializes in consultation, training, and auditing to help organizations transition to a low-carbon economy. He will be joined by Datuk Darrel Webber, the Climate Advisor to the Sabah State Government. The session will be moderated by WWF’s very own Forest Protection and Restoration Manager, Elyrice Alim.
