As I was about to turn into the guardhouse, I saw this…
It’s a Golden Retriever and what appears to be a terrier or shitzu (sorry, I’m hopeless at identifying purebreds) going for a stroll, but the small fellow is in the middle of the road, nonchalant about the possible dangers.
I slowed down, and tailed them from a distance, to ensure they were safe.
The retriever sort of “guided” the small one to cross the road and the two went on happily on their stroll.
The guard was watching me and he must have guessed my anxiety (by the way, he is the same guard who handed over the lost minpin to me a few weeks ago). So he told me these two dogs came from so-and-so’s house and that their owners always let them out like this. Later, he said, the maid will go catch them back.
Even the guard shook his head and knew it wasn’t a wise thing to do.
Sigh…
Updates at 6.00pm – I checked with the guards on my way out just now and they said the owner went looking for them and brought them back within a few minutes after I spotted them.
