Wwf-Malaysia Has Been Stepping Up Its Conservation..

WWF-Malaysia has been stepping up its conservation efforts by undertaking education programmes online. Powered by Royal Bank of Canada, we recently brought 23 primary and secondary school students onboard our inaugural Water Squad Challenge.

Students participating in the 5-day programme, which began on 13 December 2021, explored topics related to water and conservation while participating in mini activities. Having explored where water comes from and relevant issues, the students learned how to calculate their water bills and consumption as well as water-saving tips and devices. They also pledged to become Water Heroes and displayed good teamwork and creativity in a competition to design posters regarding water conservation.

The programme was lucky to have a speaker from Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara to impart practical knowledge through her sharing session. The participants also learned from the Peninsular Malaysia Freshwater Lead, Datin Daria Mathew as well as the Freshwater Conservation (Klang Valley) team who all shared their expertise and insights.

It was heartening to see enthusiastic and curious students who were eager to learn more about water conservation. We sincerely hope that these future leaders will be continuously motivated to translate their knowledge into action and eventually, will become leading agents of change, especially in the water sector.
