Good Morning, Diva!

I was awaken this morning by loud mewing from downstairs.

It was Diva, of course.

Last night, she had already learnt how to squeeze out from the edge of the cage door (many kittens soon discover this), so I tied a yellow ribbon to secure the door to the bars of the cage and that took care of that.

Diva was quite unhappy about being caged. She wanted to walk about the dining and living room. So, I let her walk around until almost 1.30am.

This morning, she ate on her own, from only from my hand again. It took some coaxing to get her started. I’m sure her appetite will improve once she defecates (an event we are all still waiting for with bated breath!).

Again, after breakfast, she refused to get back into her cage, making a racket that only tiny kittens do when making demands (!), so I let her walk about again.

This time, she knew where to go – to the hi-fi set, because that’s where it is warm and nice and cozy. So, she snuggled up next to the hi-fi set and mewed loudly to tell me so.

She must be quite smart in that when I start look for her (she knows it), she will mew loudly to let me know where she is. Aren’t animals just so, so incredibly smart? It only takes barely a day, and they know what is going on. They know who to trust, who to be careful of, etc.

And Diva has this incredibly coo-ing mew, like that of a bird’s. She goes “kroooo, krooo….” even while she is eating. It is almost like she is saying, “Oh, I like this food, I like this food!”

Tabs was very curious…

But not very friendly, though. Tabs hissed. Diva did not.

I thought I was the baby of the family?

This new baby is just staying for the day, Tabs.

Very photogenic, don’t you agree?

Indy saying “hi”, and also hissing.

I’m up for adoption, after my first vaccination.
At least, that’s what I overheard these humans say.

Anyone wants me?
