Chalonggirl, Now Known As Chalo, Came Into Our Car..

Chalonggirl, now known as Chalo, came into our care in 2019 after being hit by a car in the Chalong area of Phuket. A kind local noticed her lying badly injured by the side of the road and called us for help.

With surgery and physiotheraphy, Chalo recovered well and was lucky enough to be chosen by one of our amazing partner rescues, Dachshunds and Friends, earlier this year. With their help, Chalo found her perfect match and is now living her #furrytailending life with her forever family in Vancouver, Canada. The following is a lovely update we received from Chalo’s mum:

“Chalo is doing so well and she is a very sweet and gentle dog. She loves me and follows me around the house. She’s sleeping on her bed next to my desk right now. We have lots of off leash trails near my house in North Vancouver and she always comes when I call her (sometimes after sniffing a few things first!). Chalo doesn’t like much when other dogs rush at her to say hello, she will get out of their way and gently let them know it’s not ok. She’s a calm girl and happy to sniff dogs who approach her slowly.

Chalo doesn’t bark much at all, at anything and is generally not too interested in other dogs on walks on leash. She’s starting to play with the dogs we know on our street when we go for walks together. I feel like she’s getting more confident now, more of her real personality is starting to show and it’s fun to see.

Chalo is really the sweetest dog, and I get compliments from people about her all the time. They say she’s so cute and always want to know what breed she is, I say she’s a special Rescuey! Here are a few photos of my sweet Chalo. A few of them of our camping trip to Tofino this summer. She loved being on the beach and walking on the trails.”
