Today We Received A New Paralysed Dog From A Feede..

Today we received a new paralysed dog from a feeder. He is part of a Buddhist group that feeds street dogs. Their feeding programme is called Bairava Seva. Bairava is a Hindu god with a dog as his companion. Since the rescue is a girl, we have names her Bairavi as a mark of respect of her feeders.

UPDATE ON BAIRAVI:

Update on Bharavi:

1. Bhairavi is about 5 months old. Very sweet natured girl.

2. She is paralysed because of accident. Her lumbar region is fractured and she is unable to use her hind legs.

3. Her urination seems okay for now as her bladder seems small and doesn’t hold any urine. But her urine might keep on dripping as she couldn’t control the urination. This may cause her vulva to inflame due to urine burns. The vet suggested us to apply vaseline 3x a day on her vulva.

4. The vet asked us to monitor if she is pooping at least 2x a day. The vet said they couldn’t do much for her due to the fracture in her spinal cord and as long as she is eating well and pooping, she should be okay.

6. Bhairavi has some pressure sores on her legs and we need to daily dressing for the pressure sores and put her on thick bed or paddings.

6. Bhairavi is negative for distemper and parvo. She will be quarantined for 2 weeks before joining the rest of the clan.
