You’ve heard of dancing the conga, but have you heard of dancing the Kongo? It starts with a four-paw tap dance and a hip wiggle and ends with a spectacular leap through the air. We first met four-year-old Kongo last year when he appeared on a beach. Locals in the area didn’t recognise him, and the other beach dogs rejected him from their territory. It didn’t take long for Kongo to find himself in trouble and needing our help. When he arrived at the shelter, he was skinny, his eyes were infected and he had a severely injured paw.

But Kongo’s unbreakable spirit meant it wasn’t long before he was jiving his way out of our hospital doors, ready to find a home.
