Updates On Kenya! (Reena Kongs)

Kenya is the beloved pet of Reena Kong. A very unfortunate accident in the alley in August 2011 caused Kenya to be critically injured. Her right eye was gone, the left engorged, her lips were smashed and her tongue was hanging out. I remember the very afternoon that Reena called me and asked me to recommend a vet who could address Kenya’s problem. The vet Reena consulted earlier had suggested that Kenya be euthanised.
Reena would not give up on Kenya, so she sought treatment. Kenya went in for surgery and it took two months of hospitalisation and restorative work, throughout which she was well-looked after by the vet.
We could only pray for Kenya and Reena to have the mental strength to cope.
Kenya came home after two months, with one eye, but nevertheless, well.
Here’s her homecoming photos:http://myanimalcare.org/2011/10/04/kenya-is-finally-home-after-2-months-in-hospital/(4th October)
And here are today’s updates, after 4 months:
What an inspiring story! Three cheers to Reena and Kenya, for weathering the storm and emerging victors of this calamitous incident.
Stay well, Kenya, and have a great life!!
You may only have one eye, but you’re still beautiful!
