MDDB carried out its first pound rescue in Feb 2019 and some dogs and all the puppies were removed from the DBKL pound which was then located in Setapak at that time. Amongst the dogs rescued was a young beagle. We admitted all the rescues at a vet clinic in Ara Damansara and managed to get one of our then volunteers to take her in. Vellaiyathevan was taken in by a temple caretaker March 2020. She used to sleep inside the temple hall at night and hang around outside the premises during the day. Her adopter left to his home country last month and she has not been allowed back in. Since she has been living in the temple all this while she will not be able to function well in the streets.
