Most female turtles will choose a strategic place on the beach or a nesting bank, and then proceed to lay their eggs in a hole that they dig.
Then, right after that until they hatch, the turtle hatchlings will be on their own, with no mother to care for them.
Adaptation to this behaviour allows turtles to lay many eggs. In fact, some marine turtle species can lay more than 10 clutches of eggs in a single nesting season!

SOS SOS SOS. When ot rains it pours - literally that is. Our rice supplier, who holds our rice supply and sends to us weekly has suffered flood damage. We are now in a limbo as we need supply for the next 2 to 3 werks until he cleans up and restocks. We use 460 kgs (46 ten kg bags) weekly and need about 138 bags at RM25 each. Tesco (Lotus) unfortunately limits three bags per Online transaction. So it looks like we need to go to Lotus, NSK or 99 Speedmart and load our carts. We need urgent help t...

APRIL 2010, a VIP was about to visit a KTM station which was under the jurisdiction of the Selayang Municipal Council. Some workers there tied the dog up to the grill and stuck a pole in its mouth to prevent it from barking. We heard about it but by the time our person got there, the dog was already sent to the pound. We managed to get the dog to the vet but unfortunately doggo died after two weeks due to severe tick fever. We think the trauma of how he was handled aggravated his condition.

Feb 2010, we received a call from a vendor at the Petaling Jaya Old Town market that a hawker had splashed oil on a street dog. We got the doggo admitted at Gasing Veterinary Hospital where his burns were treated. He was there a couple of months and one of Gasing's clients - whom we knew would be able to give him a good home - adopted the doggo that we named Lester. The last we saw the adopter was early this year at Gasing and we were told the now old man was still strong and steady.

In mid 2009, a mother dog and her five puppies were rescued in Kapar. The entire family had severe mange. One of the puppies that was fully black, had the worst. Eventually all the puppies came down with distemper. Two died and three survived. Out of the three survivors, two were adopted but the black one with severe skin trouble remained with us for several years before she was adopted about 8 years ago.
