Mother dog Mary is in a worst of condition than we assumed. There are tear wounds on top of her body as well as near the crotch. There are also multiple nail puncture wounds. Dog is not there. The company workers where she was found will look for her. This is a sad sad story. She had given birth to five puppies under some planks which had nails and injured herself badly when she was crawling out from where she had given birth, Since she was lying injured, the puppies were not fed and this workers found the five dead puppies just now. No prizes for guessing what the Malayan Snail-eating Turtle (Malayemys macrocephala) mainly feasts on! This small aquatic #turtle has a large head (macro = big, cephala = head) and strong jaws, which enables it to crush the shells of snails. On occasion, it also eats mussels, crabs, shrimp, and insects.
It is found in slow-moving bodies of water with muddy bottoms and lots of vegetation, such as marshes, swamps, rice paddies and irrigation canals. Females are much larger than males.
