Sugar - The Sweet Life!
4th Jan 2009, by Noah's Ark CARES

Sugar todaySugar was given to me by my parents for my 16th birthday. I believe that she's the best birthday present I've ever received. When I first set eyes on her, I knew I had to adopt her. She was just so adorable. Noah's Ark named her Champagne, maybe because she was still bubbly inspite of adversity. My mother had adopted Sparky (previously known as Benji) from Noah's Ark just few months ago. As this would be going from owning no dogs at all to 2 within a space of 3 months, we had to consid...

1st Jan 2009, by Noah's Ark CARES

The dogs had all the freedom to wander where they wanted to, no need to sit, paw nor roll-over!Happy owners and their happy dogs!Yes - it was at the doggie tea party held at the Singapore Polo Club. About an hour before the tea party, the skies threatened to pour as there was a slight drizzle. Despite that, our volunteers and supporters still came down after the rain! A Desperate Plea For Help
28th Dec 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES

Some two weeks ago we received a call from a social worker requesting help with an animal issue. A single elderly lady, 74 yrs of age, under their care, had some animals in her one-room rental apartment and could no longer care for them. She had fallen sick, was hospitalized and lost her job washing dishes in a coffee shop during her long stay in hospital. The social worker had initially called SPCA for help and was told by SPCA to call HDB. Instead she went online and called Noah’s Ark for he...

President's Message For 2008
24th Dec 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES

Dear Friends and Supporters of Noah’s Ark,2008 is drawing to a rapid close and yet there is still much work to be completed. We at Noah’s Ark CARES are still aware that our sterilization programme for the street animals in Singapore is far from complete. Nevertheless, heartened by the support the National Dog Walk in August 2008 we received both from the general public and our faithful and loyal supporters. We believe that without active sterilization of both the stray population in Singapor...

Sweet Champion Found At National Library Car Park
21st Dec 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES

Tonight a gentle and noble soul lay sleeping soundly beside me; and as I looked into his cloudy eyes, I saw not the protruding ribs from a too thin body or the unsteady legs gnarled with arthiritis but a glimpse of a "champion" that he once was.So begins my story of a brown abandoned dog that was found in a carpark in town this week....In the last few weeks, he had walked many streets searching desperately for the friendly faces of his people he once called family. Everything looked unfamiliar b...

Life Of A Stray
18th Dec 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES

Our life is harsh - did you know,And it is a story that must be told. I am a stray puppy living on a construction site,One of the many hiding in plain sight.

Our mommy could not produce any milk,So our tummies were never fully filled.Every few days we get to have a bite,When caring stray feeders make an effort to feed us late at night. We drink water when rainwater collects in deep puddles,Contaminated water that is full of disgusting germs. Occasionally we have our lucky day,When clean co...

Paul was walking along one of the pet farms located at Pasir Ris when a pair of Sharpeis which were being sold for $880 each caught his attention. Cramped in metal cages, the 2 of them were snuggled together for warmth. As he already had 2 huskies at home, all he could do was hope for the best for them and he decided he would return another day to see if they had been bought.Weeks passed and Paul decided to visit the pet farm since he lived nearby. To his dismay, he saw that the Sharpeis were st...

30th Nov 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES

When I look back, I believe that fate had kindly brought me to Noah’s Ark. Just the other day, I was looking at pet pictures from an online forum and before I knew it, I was invited to go down! The moment we arrived at Noah’s Ark and before we even got down from the car, there were dogs already running out to greet us! From afar, we heard the welcoming barks as they smelt and heard our car drive onto the gravel road. After all, Noah’s Ark is a free-roaming animal sanctuary.Hiding from the s...

Toy Dog Cruelly Abandoned At An Industrial Estate
17th Nov 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES

LATEST UPDATE A volunteer has taken the little dog to Mt Pleasant (Sunset Way) and he was seen by Dr Ang. In fact, Dr Ang raved about how sweet he was! She estimates him to be about 10 years old, and possibly a Maltese but we wont know till his fur grows back. This is a typical dog abandonment situation, where people dump their dog once it grows old and is no longer fun or cute. Sigh, if only there were strict laws to punish such irresponsible people. This little dog is now with a friend and we ar...

Do you recall Diesel? The kerosene smelling dog? Since his discharge from Mt Pleasant, Diesel has been spending his days at Mutts & Mittens through the kind sponsorship of Ms C.L. Today, his wound has dried up and is healing very well. The only trace of his previous injury is the loss of fur accompanied with a sort of skin discoloration. Looking at Diesel today, you wouldn’t have the faintest idea how tough and sad his life had been.Diesel's initial gaping maggot infested woundDiesel's wou...
