Mei Mei's New Lease Of Life 14th Oct 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES
It has been about two months and I'm glad to say that Mei Mei has comfortably settled down in her new environment. My other dog, Chu Chu, is happier these days as she has a little sister to play with. They can go wild when they play in the garden, knocking flower pots over and sending turfs flying. That is why I am unable to leave them together in the garden without supervision. At night, they have to sleep in seperate areas outside the house. As Chu Chu has a bigger covered area in the car porch...

A pregnant stray cat gave birth to 4 kittens in Michael's garden which is in the Kepong area. On the morning of 30/9/2008, these 4 kittens (now almost 2 months old) suddenly dissapeared as suspected that they were stolen by construction workers next door from the muddy shoe-prints found in the house compound were the kittens were staying. This was immediately reported to the police but no action was taken. Please kindly inform us if these kittens are seen so they can be returned to the poor mothe...

My Visit To Noah's Ark On 13 Sept 2008 - By Suzanne 12th Oct 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES
Every animal lover should not miss out on making a visit Noah’s Ark for an enriching experience. In fact, I believe schools should organize educational tours to Noah’s Ark to help instill a love for animals in our younger generation.Boarding the coach at Boon Lay interchange with our bags packed to the brim with treats made us feel as if we’re going for a weekend holiday. The journey itself was a breeze with surprisingly smooth traffic at the Immigration checkpoint. Heading via the 2nd lin...

The Importance Of Microchipping Your Dog 9th Oct 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES
Hi! My name is Blacky. Let me tell you a story. A few weeks ago, I woke up from my 11th nap of the day. After taking a nice long stretch, I decided I needed a drink. On my way to the kitchen – oh bliss! – what’s that I see? The front door was wide open! This was THE opportunity. Forget about the water, liberty here I come!Oh those stairs, I’m not in my prime anymore I reckon. Ouch! Oh some wet grass. Let’s see what’s around the corner. It was only after a while that I began to questi...

Noah's Ark Is Meenachi's New Home 5th Oct 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES
On July 30, we rescued Meenachi, a dog living on an industrial estate. She had a slash wound on her right hind leg near her abdomen. It was thought that such a clean wound was unlikely to be caused by a machine or motor vehicle accident. Previously, this was how bad her wound was:Meenachi's old wound Remember Uncle R, the kind Malay uncle that carried Meenachi to receive help? The Uncle R that touched hearts and moved us to tears with his selflessness and kindness? Indeed, his story painted a pi...

Back To Basics - SMU PAW Tours Noah's Ark! 30th Sep 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES
23 Aug ’08 - 35 people. 1 coach. The same passion. Okay, maybe not all of us shared the same passion then as there were a handful who were a tad fearful of dogs. But that aside, we all boarded the coach with the same readiness and the same enthusiasm. Where were we headed? Noah’s Ark- the animal sanctuary we heard so much about. What were we in for? An experience that we were not going to forget for a long, long time; an experience that we wouldn’t have chance to enjoy back home; an experi...

Notes From Andreana & Emily... 23rd Sep 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES
We visited Noah’s Ark last Saturday. It was as usual, the best time of my life!Princess greeted me and never left my side. Long Jeans, my sponsored Dashund, was happy to see me. My siblings, Andre and Andrea, and I spent some time at the greeting area before we proceeded to explore the other parts of Noah’s Ark to greet the horses and the other dogs.As it rained that morning, some of the grounds were still muddy. Some time in the afternoon, Princess and I were on our way to the stables, walk...

Aftermath Of The 13th Sept Tour... 21st Sep 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES
It started out as a gloomy morning, with major downpours throughout Singapore. My heart sank as I looked out the window at 9am. I kept praying that it would not put a damper on the one thing I had been looking forward to all week – my trip to Noah's Ark.Thankfully by 11am, the sky gradually cleared. Not long after, people began arriving in groups from 1.15pm onwards and without much of a hassle, we set off at 2pm for Noah's Ark. This was the first time we had 3 buses going to Noah's Ark and it...

Bikers: 17th August 2008 Noah’s Ark Visit 16th Sep 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES
I know that Hart would have loved to come along with us – I really do. Hart was the initial organizer of the very first Noah’s Ark trip for the bikers previously. He was the one who led us to discover an animal haven we thought didn’t exist any longer – a sanctuary of lush greenery and boundless space for dogs, cats and horses to live happily, and literally ever after. What beautiful lush greenery...Since there were requests by bikers who had heard so much about Noah’s Ark but were unab...

Before reading further, please be advised that there are rather disturbing pictures below. Please do not continue if you feel uncomfortable viewing such photos. Thank you!Sterilization is the best possible solution to reduce the number of strays, more humanely than culling. Why the emphasis on sterilization? Little Ziggy's Pain (Industrial Dog Rescue) 8th Sep 2008, by Noah's Ark CARES
Sat, 6 Sept '08 - The afternoon started out pleasantly and lazily. We had gotten together today as a group to take an opportunity to sit down, unwind and get to know each other better and to chat about dogs and cats.Later in the evening around 9pm, a call was received informing us of an injured puppy at an industrial area. Living on a construction site, she had gotten herself into an accident. To how bad an extent we did not know. But we knew one thing. How could we deny a call to help an innoce...
