Horsey is an injured stray dog rescued by Joanne from Klang.  There was a bleeding wound in her right hind leg and a vet in Klang had diagnosed Horsey as being paralysed.  He suggested that she be euthanised.  Horsey was also rather snappy and the vet could not handle her. Ref: http://www.myanimalcare.org/2011/04/horseys-update s-injured-dog-in-klang.htmlWe offered Joanne a second opinion from our panel vet in Subang Jaya and a Saturday appointment had bee...

Neko, Zeezam's Little Black Kitty
21st Apr 2011, by AnimalCare

So, we wasted no time and took all of Zeezam's five cats to our panel vet so that the little black one, Neko, could be checked.Apparently, Zeezam had picked up another two siblings of Neko, and both died.  Neko is the only survivor from this litter.  Their mother did not really look after them too.  Poor things...Little Neko didn't seem so sickly now...After being examined, it was found that Neko has a lot of worms, so he was dewormed.  But Neko also had a slight fever. ...

Zeezam wrote to me about three weeks, requesting for help to get his rescued cats vaccinated and spayed-neutered.  Zeezam has been picking up strays off the street and adopts them as his own.  He recently picked up five new cats.Today, Zeezam and his girlfriend, Lily, brought five cats for vaccination. Two of the cats came in this creatively-designed cat carrier. Out pops one little head.Peek-a-boo!There's one more in there, and another two in another carrier. But this little ...

Dedicated To People In Rescue
21st Apr 2011, by Noah's Ark CARES

written by Jeanne IllischeI wasn’t a pup when I came to your homeI’d been dumped on the road, left to roam.Don’t remember the people except the painThey left me do to die in the cold and the rain. You were driving along the highway, it was late at nightWhen you saw the faintest glimmer of lightYou took a chance and turned aroundGot out of the van and knelt to the groundMy quivering body felt the gentlest of handsI knew I need not make any more demandsIn your heart, and your home...

Horsey In A Worrying State (URGENT - Transport Help Needed)
21st Apr 2011, by AnimalCare

Joanne emailed me late last night saying that Horsey had not urinated the whole day.  I knew this was not to be taken lightly, so I immediately contacted the vet to seek advice.  For any animal not to urinate for 24 hours, it is indeed worrying because it could lead to the necrosis of the kidneys and eventual death.  I am now arranging for transport so that Joanne can bring Horsey to our vet this evening. However, our transport provider has not reverted to me yet.  ...

Moolloo And 2 Puppies Up For Adoption
21st Apr 2011, by AnimalCare

A request from Teresa Chian:Please post the attached 2 pics of Moolloo, currently under a fosterer's care in Damansara. He is still up for adoption.Last Sunday, I found 2 puppies wandering outside my house. They are about 2 months old, dewormed and are in good condition. Neighbours in my area know that I do animal rescue and rehome work and so I suspect that they somehow spread the news around and somebody decided to take advantage of that by dumping puppies in front of my house. I managed to pu...

Horsey's Updates (injured Dog In Klang)
20th Apr 2011, by AnimalCare

Horsey is the injured dog rescued by Joanne from Klang.  We are currently sponsoring Horsey's medical treatment.  The vet in Klang had diagnosed Horsey as being paralysed.  We are now seeking a second opinion from one of our panel vets in Subang Jaya and I've made the appointment.  Meanwhile, Horsey is eating well.  It's just the injured leg that we need to take care of and find out what is actually wrong.  Joanne sent a short video clip of Horsey eating and she see...

Of Muzzles, Banned Breeds And....other Things
20th Apr 2011, by AnimalCare

Ref: http://www.myanimalcare.org/2011/04/yb-hannah-yeoh -replies.htmlMy friend has these to share:Muzzling a dog:The muzzle is used by vets when handling a snappy dog, not for dogs out on a walk.  The muzzle makes it difficult for the dog to breathe properly and is unnatural and stressful as well.  All dogs cool down their body by breathing through their mouth and by muzzling those dogs while out on the leash is not only cruel, it can cause the dog to go into heat stroke and ultim...

Another wonderful piece from Mrs Wong:With all of the tragic news about animals out there, it's nice to be able to share this uplifting story that shows the positive side of human nature.
