A Mother And 3 Kittens, Dumped 19th Apr 2011, by AnimalCare
One of our panel vets called me this afternoon. A lady by the name of Lillian had brought a mother-cat and 3 kittens to the clinic, asking for help in spaying the mother-cat and getting the kittens adopted. I said we'll pay for the spaying of the mother if the vet feels she is fit enough to be spayed. Apparently, someone had dumped the poor mother and her 3 kittens in front of Lillian's house. The mother-cat. She is practically skin and bones. Poor thing. I could see her ...

Yin Wey feeds two cats who live around her house. The older one, whom she names Cash, is currently pregnant. I spoke to Yin Wey last week about getting Cheque spayed as soon as possible before she starts breeding. So, Yin Wey brought Cheque to our panel vet today.Cheque sti...

An Appeal To The ADUN Of Subang Jaya 19th Apr 2011, by AnimalCare
I have just sent this email to YB Hannah Yeoh:Dear YB Hannah,As a resident of Subang Jaya, I am very disturbed by this news: http://www.myanimalcare.org/2011/04/what-shame.htm lIt is not the fault of the dogs that they exist or have been brought into the country. It is the fault of the humans, and perhaps, even the immigration officers who allowed them to be brought in in the first place. Confiscation would probably mean the dogs would be put down. Killing is never the answer to solving any prob...

From Alex:Some updates on Ginger. She seemed to had gotten a better appetite today, eating a little bit more. Am feeding her 3 meals a day (like us humans) with some dry food in her bowl leftover for whenever she wants to eat. My friend suggested that I add some vegetable oil to her dry food so that it will be softer for her to eat, will get some wet food for her when I get the chance. The vet suggested that I apply baby oil to her ears right? Should I rub on other infected areas as well such as ...

It's been months since the surgery and she's doing fine now. Mary sent these photos:Brownie is the brown one, leading the way, and the black-and-white, according to Mary, is Brownie's best-friend and is always following the "queen". Apparently, the b&w missed Brownie when Brownie was hospitalised. Now, the queen and the lady-in...

Newborn Kittens For Adoption Later 18th Apr 2011, by AnimalCare
Su Ann wrote to me sometime back asking for help for a kitten who was trapped in a drain. We tried and one of our volunteers went to the site itself but couldn't get into the drain. Subsequently, the kitten got out by herself or maybe the mother-cat got her out. The mother-cat was also quite fierce so it wasn't possible to catch her for spaying. Now, the the mother has given birth to another litter. It's only been 3 months - this is how fast unspayed free-roami...

Updates From Devakie (12 Dogs In Penang) 18th Apr 2011, by AnimalCare
This morning, I was thinking about the 12 dogs in Penang whom Devakie is trying to save. These 12 dogs were left behind when their owners moved and the whole place is now being evacuated to make way for development. Devakie has been providing food for these dogs and wrote to me to ask for assistance on how to help these 12 dogs about two weeks back. I found a place in the Klang Valley that could take in these dogs, but the journey from Penang to here is rather far and it w...
