A Haven For TNR-Ed Cats At Washington Heights 7th Aug 2011, by AnimalCare
Never say "Oh, that's in the US so it can be done, but over here, no way!" - never say that, because if we do, it will really not be done here. It's just a convenient excuse for us NOT to do anything. We have to do it, and to keep pushing for it, and one day, it will be done. When I first started AnimalCare, I was also told it will never succeed and I will not be able to get the support. When I first wanted to raise funds through the tshirts, I was also told nobody would buy our tshirts....S...

Puppy Food For Din's Puppies (sent Today) 6th Aug 2011, by AnimalCare
Ever since Chew contacted me over Din's need of help to buy puppy food for the 8 orphaned puppies that he was willing to foster, I have been working at getting funds to help him. This morning, we raised enough, through friends, to purchase two big packs of puppy food for the 8 puppies, which we trust will last them for a few weeks. However, two of the puppies are sick and have been sent to the vet while 6 are still with Din. Chew came over to collect the food from Subang Jaya and he sent the foo...

Pending Puppy 6th Aug 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
Here I was enjoying an afternoon nap after a very big day and I woke up to the vibrations of my mobile phone. I had just missed a call from Alana who was on emergency call. At my clinic, vets do their utmost best to support each other round the clock; that can range from a simple phone consultation about a complex case or being called in to assist in a difficult surgery.
I instantly called her back and she had a caesarean to do and the nurse on call was too far away.
Everyone feels terribly...

A Case Of A Disappearing Act With A Happy Ending! 6th Aug 2011, by AnimalCare
Peggy Tiong has been communicating with me over the cats in her colony. Prior to her trip overseas, a white female cat had just given birth to five beautiful white kittens. Since the mother was looking after kittens, all ought to be fine. However, when Peggy came back, she noticed only the mother and the kittens were no where to be seen at all. I told Peggy to observe how frequently the mother would spend time at house and Peggy said it was very frequent. We both feared the worst - that the kitten...

PLEASE HELP US HELP TASHI 6th Aug 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
This is Tashi and she is a stray.Tashi is currently heavily pregnant and hangs around outside the house where she gets her daily meals in Bandar Sg Long. The person who wants to help Tashi cannot take her in because she is already overloaded with six dogs. From her looks – the forehead, nose area and nails – we can see that she is shar pei cross. Sadly this means Tashi is a product of human inconsideration whereby an unneutered male shar pei must have probably be let loose to sow his blo...

Ref: http://www.myanimalcare.org/2011/08/castrated-male -caught-and-spared.htmlWe were really worried about Mr Pure White yesterday because he did not take the operation well (was slow in waking up) and thus, had to be put on drips and he spent the night at the clinic. Today, he was alright and was in fact, eating very well, too. From Cathy: I have released Mr White after giving him breakfast and he walked off without looking back. I later found him at his favourite siest...
