Who Would Do A Thing Like This? (Animal Bombs) 13th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Huey sent this: http://thestar.com.my/metro/story.asp?f ile=/2011/7/13/north/9092295&sec=NorthI'm quite lost for words. WHO would have so much time to do a thing like this? Seems like a case of mischief, but at the expense of using animals, which is exploitation. Seems like the work of a real pest. You know, aeons ago, humans lived quite harmoniously (meaning, by the laws of nature) with the animals in the jungle. Then, humans became "civilised", created vi...

Karuna Is Going For Walks Now 13th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Karuna is doing very well. The vets have even been taking her for walks! She just has this sad look, but the vets say she is not sad. Karuna, you always look the same in all the photos, can we have, perhaps, a different pose today? Okay...that's a different pose...thank you.Tried as I did, she wasn't really interested much in moving around. Maybe I always visit during nap time! But the vet says she walks well and is healing very well.Karuna is up for adopt...

Mama-Cat's Faucitis Massively Improved! 13th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Amy Tham also brought the Mama-Cat for a check-up today. This Mama-Cat had been treated for Faucitis on 20th June. Ref: http://www.myanimalcare.org/2011/0 6/cat-with-faucitis.html Here's Mama."Wow!! Massive improvement!"We're really glad Mama-Cat's condition has improved so much. Our initial worry was that she could be FIV+ or suffering from leukemia, which would cause her not to heal well. We still do not know if she could be FIV+ or have leukemia, but th...

Two Male Cats Neutered (Amy Tham's) 13th Jul 2011, by AnimalCare
Amy Tham is a cat-feeder and rescuer at her apartment area. Today, she brought two male cats to be neutered under our sponsorship at our panel vet. This a male cat rescued some weeks back, supposedly to be sent for neutering but he had diarrhoea, so it was postponed until now. He's active and curious. He jumped all over the clinic. The vet detected a "lump" inside, but he said it does not disturb the cat, so we'd best just leave it as it is. At least, for now. &...

Sox On A Tree 13th Jul 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
One Sunday afternoon, I was driving home after being out on a property treating 2 down cows and my emergency phone rang.
I stopped on the side of the road and picked up. The caller was very distressed because his cat had been missing for two days and has been spotted by his son on the netting over the vineyard about 10 meters high. The cat was meowing and unable to climb down and their son had tried to tempt it with all types of food. He could not find a ladder high enough to access the cat. Th...

BEFORE
AFTER
The story of ‘Brandy’ began when she was brought into me by the rangers afterhours one friday afternoon. They had been trying to track her down for a month. Many concerned citizens had been calling them about her whenever she was spotted dragging her hindlegs behind her.
The firt time I looked at Brandy, I saw her beautiful face and her body that looked like a pile of bones. I then noticed that one of her hindlegs had an open fracture and the other had the hock joint c...

Meet My Support System! 13th Jul 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
Wally (my husband, my strength, my life) with Larry
I seriously don’t know where I would be today if it weren’t for my loving supportive husband Wally and our furry and feathery kids. I would have simply drowned myself at work and would have missed out on living a very balanced and fulfilling life.
Leilah
I love how much my own husband teaches me about birds everyday. The first parrot he ever owned was the one I got us one year ago. Nacho simply captivated Wally and transformed him...

Meet Tiger, My Inspiration 13th Jul 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
When I was growing up, my mother surrounded me with so many pets. She was very passionate about animals and nature and did her best to invoke the same passion within me and she was obviously successful. It is kind of ironic because when my mom reflects upon that nowadays, she damns the day she exposed me to animals. Why? Because I now live so far away from her in Australia.
The first pet that I adopted and assumed total responsibility for was ‘Tiger’. My friend’s siamese cat h...

Little Jerry Seinfeld 13th Jul 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
Jerry Oh Jerry
This tough little cookie came in with his sibling after what I suspect was either their first flight gone bad or after being blown out of their nest. He was a fully feathered long billed corella. He had massive head trauma and a blood shot eye and could barely lift his head. They both received basic supportive care as we didn’t want to stress them and unfortunately his sibling died. He, however, would not give up. At that stage I could not even send him to a wildlife carer ...
