Is This Your Dog? 6th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
For the past two days, a very nice-looking dog (with license) has been wandering aimlessly on my street. I only saw the dog in the mornings before going to work and I thought it was somebody's dog out for a run, but according to my neighbours, he has been running on the street all day, trying to get into people's houses. A neighbour fed the dog, and just now, I brought a bowl of rice and kibbles out, but could not find the dog.According to Ming-Yi, the dog runs when approached. He even tri...

Ref: http://www.myanimalcare.org/2011/10/two- kittens-for-worm-treatment.htmlI was very busy yesterday and could not obtain the whole story of what actually happened (see link above, part in red). So, today I went to our vet and got the whole story from the vet assistant. Apparently, when the lady went back to the first vet, he was already treating the kitten. However, when he went to the back of his clinic to get something, the lady took the kitten away and sent it to our vet. &...

"Keep the love, end the neglect.” – This is SPCA’s slogan for World Animal Day 2011, which was celebrated worldwide just two days ago. Sad to say, be it locally or internationally, there are still many such unfortunate cases going on behind closed doors, and neglected pets left to suffer, in silence. We are appealing for fosterers/adopters for these two boys, whose names the Owner's parents do not even know. Both playful, loving and estimated to be about 5-6 years old, the stand...

The Blueys Are Bobby's New Breakfast Guide-Kittens! 6th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
Seems like Cow has officially relinquished his duty as the breakfast guide-cat for Bobby. And why? This is why. It's something I cannot quite understand...ever since Bobby's blindness started setting in, he has refused to eat unless a cat (which is Cow) takes him to his food-bowl and eats with him. We've tried force-feeding him, and it was a total disaster - he hates it. If there is no cat, Bobby simply refuses to eat. He'd just sit and stare at the direction of the food. So Cow, being t...

A lady met me at the college today when we were having the F3 fair. She told me the two kittens whose mother-cat had just been spayed, were very sickly, and she had just brought them to a vet but the vet was busy with surgery and could not attend to them.I asked her how serious it was and she said it looked very serious. I quickly called our panel vet and they said she could bring them in.So she brought one of the kittens in, followed by another. It was a case of worms and one of the kitte...

Yet Another Extreme Cruelty Case 5th Oct 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Just about midnight last night, we received a frantic call saying that a dog had been bundled-up in a sack and left by the road side to die. We told them to rush the dog to a veterinary clinic and that we would take over from there. However, the dog did not make it through the night. Who are these people and how can they resort to such cruelty? We asked the Good Samaritans to send us pics and write to us what had happened, herewith their narration:"Last night, a medium sized female dog was...
