Poison Is Poison 23rd Jul 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
I have seen many pets that have been poisoned. Some have actually gotten the poison from the neighbor’s property, others have had access in their own homes and some we have never determined the type of poisoning they have ingested. As vets, we must aim to treat the symptoms which include bleeding, seizures, muscle twitching, vomiting and so forth.
We are often misguided by the history from the owners that are adamant that no poisoning is possible.
There have been so many situations where t...

Another Weekend Tragedy 23rd Jul 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
We received a call from a young man in Subang Jaya late last night that he had spotted a dog with a severe maggot wound on its face. We told him to feed the dog for the night and bring it to us today. Accompanied by Christine, the young man and his mother brought the dog to our Klang panel vet and we were horrified to see maggots literally crawling out of the dog's face. We thought the well built male dog must have been injured in a fight but after the vet cleaned out the wound, he found ...

Citta Is Doing Well 23rd Jul 2011, by Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better
Citta going for a walk with Dr ChanCitta is eating and that great news. We were worried as she had not been eating since the incident because her sense of smell has been compromised and were contemplating of shoving some steamed chicken into her mouth to stoke her taste buds. The vet apparently ...

While we were on our way to Semenyih with the hope of confronting the retard that had looped off Citta's nose, Rena (who was driving) caught sight of a puppy along the highway leading to Semenyih. It was under a flyover and Rena reversed the car towards the puppy. Myers then jumped out of the car and cautiously befriended him so that he will not take fright and run into the heavy oncoming traffic. He managed to carry the puppy into the car and the markings as well as colour indicated that...
