One Male Cat Neutered, One Got Away (David Tan’s) 5th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
David Tan called me last week requesting help to neuter 4 male cats and 6 female cats in his neighbourhood. His daughter, Kirstine, liaised with me later and I’ve already arranged for all 4 males to be neutered today, and the females would be later this week as our slots for females are all fully booked till Wednesday.
Today, Kirstine and her father, Mr Tan, only managed to bring one male cat as the other three got away. Unfortunately too, Mr Tan was very badly bitten by the three other ca...

2 Out Of 6 Cats Spayed Today (Wong Nyet Poh’s) 5th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Ms Wong called me last week, requesting help to spay 6 female cats whom she is feeding. I made arrangements for 2 cats per day at our panel vet.
Two of the 6 cats were brought in today, and have been spayed. Hopefully, Ms Wong can catch the other four and by this week, all would have been spayed and thousands of unwanted births will be prevented.
We will sponsor the spaying of all six.
Here are the photos of all of them.

A few days ago, Mandy Chee wrote:
This morning I have an appointment in Kota kemuning near the MBSA office and saw this two pups, one a schnauzer look alike and another a mongrel pup about 2 months old. They were hanging around the park and they seemed to be abandoned. I fed them some kibbles that I have in my car and stayed for about and hour.
Long story short, i found a potential adopter after posting it on MDDB online adoption center. I want him to be castrated first so can i asked for your h...

Sunshine Courage’s Bed-On-Wheels 5th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Updates on Sunshine:
Sorry this update comes later than promised as I had a full weekend bathing and grooming our dogs at home and then making Sunshine’s new bed, relocating her and getting the logistics set up in her new space. We are now settling into the new space and doing well.
Sunshine just passed the 2-week home quarentine/isolation period that we impose at home for all rescue dog we foster. This is to be careful of any infectious conditions that may surface and may affect our ...

Fluffy, Female Cat For Adoption (Liza’s) 5th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
From Liza (chempaka_m@yahoo.com.my)
Good Morning Dr Chan. I really need your help to find a kind person
who would like to adopt one stray female cat who was abandoned by her
previous owner. I have been feeding her for over a year and think she
was already spayed. Yesterday my neighbour threatened to catch and
dump the cat at another place if we leave the cat loitering around the
housing area. I already have 14 cats with 3 dominant male and
adopting another cat will add to the chaotic situatio...

Urgent: Abandoned Pekingese For Adoption (Will Lim’s) 5th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Will Lim sent me a text message today about a Pekingese who had been left at a clinic in Jalan Kuchai Maju today. The dog is around 3 years old and has some skin problem. According to Will, if the dog is not adopted within one week, it will be euthanised.
Interested, please call Connie Foong on 019-2226609.
Poor fellow…if only there were more no-kill sanctuaries, then at least it could go there if nobody wants to adopt it.
This is the sad life of being born an animal. It doesn’t mat...

Updates On Jenny And Perky (Mei Leng’s) 4th Dec 2011, by AnimalCare
Our friendship with Mei Leng started when she read about our Klang rescue way back in Dec 2009 where we had taken out 36 dogs from the Klang Dog Pound (due for euthanasia) and rehomed them in a farm in Bentong. At that time, we were able to do that because the farm in Bentong agreed to take them in provided we supplied food and provided we got a vet to certify the dogs were in good health.
Despite the check-up by two vets at the pound that morning, eight of the dogs were found to be ill after th...

The Harsh Life And Uncertain Future Of A Shelter Animal 4th Dec 2011, by SPCA Sarawak
We get calls daily asking for permission (and sometimes even forcibly) to bring in strays to the shelter so that they won't get abused, starve or knocked down by cars. What people do not know is that :-1. The chances of an animal being adopted is VERY low. Cute puppies stand the highest chance of being adopted BUT they also stand a great chance of being abandoned when they've outgrown their cuteness which is usually when they're 5 to 6 months onwards.2. Adoption chances are less ...

As he was being dragged away from his lover, he became furious and banged on the fence separating them, trying to get close to her again.
She was equally desperate, and with all her efforts squeezed through the fence and rushed to him.
A sweet kiss followed.
No, this was not a passionate Romeo-and-Juliet love scene.
In fact, the couple is not even human. He is...
