Snowy Day 8 26th Aug 2011, by AnimalCare
Updates from Agnes:Today Snowy has no appetite to eat. Maria and I visited him at 10.45am.He held up his head the moment he saw Maria and responded with a mew each time Maria called out his name and talked to him. When kibbles and water were served, he immediately reached out to drink water but did not touch the kibbles. Then AD was scooped out and he ate a wee bit when fed with a spoon. Then he ate a little bit more of AD by himself, and didn't want any more. He really looked lethargic but all ...

Orange, Spayed 26th Aug 2011, by AnimalCare
This morning, I brought June and Orange (Only-One's mother-cat) to the clinic. Orange's spaying is scheduled for today.Another physical examination to ensure that Orange is fit for the operation. After that, I took June to buy kitten food for Only-One and mum. Orange has been spayed now and Wei Leng's sister has taken her back to the shop. The vet just called to say Orange is fully awake and is in fact, very healthy, judging from her reaction to the anaesthesia. Sometimes, all it takes is g...

Pet Care Tip:
Not all dogs can get along with young children. Some dogs tend to be defensive towards children because of past bad experiences such as having their tail pulled. Always supervise child–dog interactions.

Reunion With Christian, The Lion (guaranteed To Make You Smile) 26th Aug 2011, by AnimalCare
Here's another heart-warming reunion story:http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=FZ-bJFV J2P0Watch how Christian runs into his caregivers' arms.Absolutely priceless!!Wildlife conservation is a different ballgame altogether - it is acclimatizing the animal back to nature, where he belongs. There is no need for spay-neuter or "training" of any kind. It is REALLY back to nature, where animals truly belong. In my next life, I'd like to be that jungle-man who lives with the lions! Ye...

This is the said Golden! Look great right?
Anyone keen on a young (perhaps 1 - 1.5 year old) Golden Retriever? His left hind leg is misaligned at the knee joint and his right hind leg is weak. Other than that and lots of ticks (have applied anti-tick lotion on him, will bathe later), he's in good health. Very docile.

Traps Traps 26th Aug 2011, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
Killiney, the squirrel from a glue trap went through a second round of cleaning this morning. Although her fur had to be shaved at certain areas, we are so happy to share that she is ready for release very soon. She has recovered from shock and has started eating as well :) With the good news of her recovery, our puncture wounds from handling a stressed squirrel seems worth it! ;)

Bising, A Stray Cat With Mange 26th Aug 2011, by AnimalCare
Liew wrote to me a few weeks ago about this stray cat who appeared to be having a skin problem. All Liew wanted was some advice and the recommendation of a vet. He did not need any sponsorship as he would gladly take care of the medical expenses of this stray cat. So, we recommended on panel vet and Liew brought "Bising" (that's the cat's name) two weeks ago. Here's Liew's sharing after the visit:Thank you so much for recomending me your vet. Although it is a long way off for us (Panda...
