Bunny And Tabs Go To The Vet’s

So, Bunny and Tabs went to the vet’s. Bunny with his non-stop orchestra, and Tabs, would you know it, was feverishly scratching at the carrier latch to let herself out. Poor thing…

If you are thinking of giving a pet as a present this season, please think again. We believe that pets should not be treated as gifts and given as presents.
Countless pets are on sale and the temptation to buy them as a gift for someone is hard to resist. When the novelty wears off, the unwanted pet may end up being discarded/given up to the SPCA.
Animals are living beings that are capable of feeling pain and suffering. A plush dog/cat/rabbit may be a better gift for Christmas instead.

Tabs Doesn’t Belong To The New Neighbour

I finally plucked up courage to go over to the neighbour’s to enquire about Tabs. “Courage” as in being emotionally prepared to accept what they say and make a decision. I’ve been so busy and anxious over Indy and Bunny I wasn’t ready to take on Tabs’ case yet.

Dr Susanna arrived at my house on the dot and was welcomed by Tabs!
Tabs was a most gracious host, you’d almost think she’s been properly groomed at finishing school.

The Storm Is Not Over Yet For Indy

So off we went, Indy and I, on our twice-daily pilgrimage to the vet’s for Indy’s Trixone jabs.
I had earlier texted the vet with the good news that Indy is eating on his own already and he did pee and poo.
Indy wanted to come out and explore the clinic.
The injection was given and Indy still has a temperature of 39.5 degrees. Yesterday evening, it was 39.9, so I guess that’s a small improvement.
His weight loss today is 50g, so that’s also a small improvement.

Bunny Limps…

Gosh, could it be the calicivirus?
Bunny went out this morning, after breakfast and I later found him under a car.
With Bunny, it may be easier as he loves food.
So, I brought some Fussie Cat out and put it next to him (he was within reach, but he’s so heavy, I don’t think I can drag him out).
Out came the Bunnyphant….and I let him eat up all the Fussie Cat before gently grabbing him.
He complained a bit, of course.

Indy Eats On His Own!!!

Indy slept on our bed all of last night. I woke up a few times throughout the night to check on him and his body did not feel overly warm. I was worried the fever would escalate in the night.
This morning I woke to find him walking around the room, as though waiting for me. It was already “late” by my standards, 6.30am. I”m exhausted with all the rushing around and especially the worry, and I need sleep to recover.

This 7yo German Shepherd was given up because she did not bark! Sweet, gentle Kira wants a lifelong friend and will be a loyal companion to the last. Just don't ask her to bark ferociously at everybody. That's not her at all.
