Desexing Your Bitch Can Save Her Life… 8th Oct 2011, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
I have had a very hectic two weeks and was also on emergency call last weekend. I had a major sleep in today and finally feel refreshed and ready to face the world again. I am humbled and feel so thankful that my efforts have been recognised and my patients have pulled through.
It may seem like such a rhetoric for many people to hear veterinarians recommend desexing their p...

Jaine was too shocked to take photographs but went back to look for the dogs - but could not find them. Jaine says the mother is short legged and a mix of brown and white. It rain...

Helping Needy Caregivers 8th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
Ever since we got registered as a society, our functions and missions have been clearly defined - We are a medical fund and our funds are used solely for sponsoring/subsidising spay-neuter and medical treatment for strays. We have also declared that we would not be using our medical fund for food donations, but would do a separate fund-raising for this purpose when the need arises. Recently, we raised funds to purchase 105 bags of dogfood for Meiji. Besides this, we also did the s...

The Blueys Got Trapped! 8th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
But no worries....they are perfectly fine....So, what happened?Well, last night, they were so happy to have discovered a new box. It's one of the many boxes as we are in the midst of packing. Actually, we are "supposed" to be packing but have not even started because I've been up to my neck every day running around, I haven't even had time to pack! So, the Blueys had just invented a new game with this box, I decided to bring the box into their room for them to play for the night. This mornin...

Lennox, An Irish Tale 7th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
Huey shared this:http://www.savelennox.co.uk/Here's a brief that I've summarised myself:6-year old Lennox's case happened in Ireland. Despite not being aggressive at all, and being a companion dog for a disabled little girl, the Belfast City Council took him away from his family since May 2010 because he is an American Bull dog Labrador, that 'looks like a Pitbull-type'. Lennox’s family have done more than required by the law as responsible dog owners who also foster dogs. They had him neutere...

A New College Cat 7th Oct 2011, by AnimalCare
Ever since we had the 5-day fair at my college, we've noticed a new cat on the block. It's a ginger male and very young. VERY friendly, too.The students asked me if he's ready to be neutered and I think not. He looks too small. Our vets do not encourage neutering male cats until about 10 months. This is to prevent FLUTD later in life. Unless of course, the cat has been caught now and we only have this one chance, then neuter, we must. Looks like our 5-day fair has rubbed off some awareness...
